ECHOage, the Canadian based online service that makes inviting to parties less stressful, gift-giving more meaningful and also gives back, today announced it has helped over 25,000 party hosts raise $5 million for more than 300 nonprofit organizations to date. Achieving this exciting milestone affirms that people of all ages are truly embracing ECHOage as a “better way to celebrate.”

ECHOage has helped raise funds and awareness for a wide range of charitable causes in the areas of children, health, education, arts, animals, food, relief, women, the environment and more. Organizations that have benefitted from ECHOage parties range from national nonprofits such as Autism Speaks, CancerFree Kids, Free Arts and Healthy Child Healthy World, to local Canadian charities such as BC Children’s Hospital Foundation, Capital Area Food Bank and Free Arts NYC.

Reinventing the experience for birthday parties and other celebrations, ECHOage allows party hosts of all ages to invite guests with customizable e-invitations, and set up a page where guests can donate funds, which are split between a gift and a charity, both of the host’s choosing.

As a tool in particular for parents, ECHOage reinforces hard-to-grasp concepts such as appreciation and value for children, making it easy to rethink excessive presents and manage expectations. “In addition to giving back, children are using ECHOage as a tool to get the significant, meaningful gifts that they really want or need,” said Zinman. To acknowledge the accomplishments of young party hosts, ECHOage also provides the opportunity for them to profile their celebration on a “Heroes” page.
