You have seen Glam on Mom give some wonderful beauty tips, tricks and product reviews to our audience. Now she is sharing how she became Glam On Mom and gave herself 10 minutes a day to look great. Christan Thompson shares with us her story, secrets to looking great in 10 minutes and more!

How did you come up with the concept of Glam on Mom?

After children I felt so rushed, I rarely looked in the mirror before I left the house. I looked tired and I did not feel like myself.  When I had in office meetings that forced me to look like a person (not the Skype version where I wear a nice top with sweat pants underneath) I felt better and people responded to me differently.  I decided I was going to carve out a minimum of 10 minutes a day every day for me.  Sometimes that 10 minutes is used to apply makeup sometimes it is a nice bath after the kids are in bed and the dishes live in the sink another day. My friends started to ask me what was I doing, I looked so much better and I realized I wanted to encourage other moms to invest 10 minutes a day into themselves too.

Why do you specifically target Moms?

As moms we put ourselves last, if our husband was to say “take an hour for yourself I have the kids” most moms would go right to the “to do list” of things that need to be done for the family or the home.  It is our job to make us a priority, taking care of ourselves is part of taking care of our kids.

Is it possible for Moms to put together the perfect look in a little amount of time?

Yes, it really only takes 10 mins for everyday makeup!  I have a video where I time it, so you can see it really only takes 10 minutes.  I teach time savers and hacks too make your makeup look flawless in 10 minutes. I also teach flawless full coverage finish with fake eyelashes Instagram worthy looks that will take about an hour.

Name three must have products that all Moms should use…

Foundation- As we age our skin starts to get dull and discolored

Mascara- It will open up anyones eyes to look more awake

Blush- It makes you look so healthy

What is some advice you would give an overworked Mom who wants to feel better about herself on the inside?

Make a list of things that make you smile i.e.going to the bookstore, buying something new, or drinking a cup of coffee outside.  Block the time on your calendar and no matter what DO IT!  But be fully engaged in the activity if you can turn your ringer off and don’t look at your phone this is your moment.  Put it on your calendar once a week and keep adding to the list of things you enjoy so you get to do 12 things per year just for you.

Where do you see Glam on Mom in five years?

For the first time in my life I don’t have it all plotted out and I like it.  In 5 years I hope to have lots of memories if woman who share with me there was something on my channel or blog that helped them.  I want to touch as many women as I can and give them a space to focus only on them without guilt or judgement.
