Diary of A One Year Old

Our blog of the week is Diary of A One Year Old from Ivory Coast in Africa! Learn more about this creative blog written in the eyes of a one year old boy.

  1. What inspired you to start your blog Hi! I’m a one-year old Indian boy, who lives in Ivory Coast, Africa. Sometime after I was born, my Mum, who is a writer, started blogging about pregnancy and motherhood. She would tell me about her blogs, the responses she received and how many other parents were expressing themselves on the internet. While that sounded great, it struck me that the world also needed a different perspective. I decided to be the voice of all us babies out there, who watch and absorb the world silently in our first few years. We may not say much, but that doesn’t mean we don’t have much to say!
  2. What is your blog about? My blog posts are about anything and everything to do with a baby’s life. I started out by blogging about my birth and how I moved from India to Ivory Coast, turning into a young expatriate. I immediately received a very warm response from readers, saying they loved what I was writing and were waiting for the next week’s post. That motivated me to write more and more. What started out as a collection of a few posts turned into a weekly series, with my ever-growing audience egging me on to share my adventures. When I travelled to Dubai and then to Paris, they wanted to hear all about it. When I got my hair shaved, they wanted to know how I’d felt about it. From my growth milestones, to my favourite photos, to inside stories about my Mum and Dad, I spill the beans on everything!
  3. What are you passionate about? For me, from the very first day, it was all about giving a voice to us little ones. I love showing adults our perspective and have received startled responses from various parents saying they hadn’t seen things from their kid’s perspective before. Having said that, my blogs are far from serious. They are meant to elicit a smile and if they are able to touch a deeper chord, that’s a bonus. Apart from writing, I am passionate about travelling. I have seen three different continents and have flown more than 50,000 kms in my one year on this Earth. And this is just the beginning!
  4. Where do you see your blog in five years? That is a very exciting question, because I see my blog and myself going places! Literally! I want to hit the road, travel and meet my readers face-to-face around the world. Also, given the fantastic response I have been receiving, I am shortly going to launch my very own YouTube channel. Moreover, I plan to follow in my Mum’s footsteps and turn into an author. Yes! ‘Diary of a One Year Old’ will be coming out in the form of a book later this year. So stay tuned to my adventures on my blog, for there are many, many more of them coming up…
