What inspired you to start your blog?
I wanted to share all of the wonderful finds I had for my kids, people were constantly asking me “where did you get that?” and I wanted an outlet to show them. I took inspiration from my favourite blog/shopping portal Babyccino kids and then eventually started to evolve into a more lifestyle blog with fewer posts about my “finds” and more about parenting, feminism and motherhood in general. I guess the deeper I dug the more I realised I had a real passion for sharing my motherhood journey with others and appreciated the way that readers made me feel less alone.
What is your blog about?
My blog is a mix of everything but I sum it up by saying it’s “sharing the wins and woes of parenting” some things about motherhood are wonderful, but if we’re honest there are some bits that we all struggle with and we all need that maternal compadre to hold hands with and say here’s the virtual wine.
What are you passionate about?
I’m super passionate about encouraging parents to “to it their own way” and not feel pressured into conforming with whichever social pressure they have, or think they have. I won’t my message to be that it’s ok to feel like you are a swan gliding along on the top but furiously battling the water under the lake and for people to know they aren’t alone in that. EVERYONE struggles with motherhood and life in general at times. I’m also hugely passionate about creating a better world for our children, filled with equality. My main focus is women’s rights and also trying to change the perceptions of men as secondary parents.
Where do you see your blog in five years?
Well, in the last few months I’ve really started to change and evolve my writing, as well as pushing my focus onto instagram as almost a “mini blog”. I think in general I would like to write a book that maybe echoes the voice of the blog.
