Essential Cloth Diaper Accessories
The key to being successful with cloth diapering is having the right tools. The products discussed in this video will make cloth diapering much easier and more appealing.
LAUNDRY DETERGENT: Choose a laundry detergent that doesn’t contain fabric softener or bleach. It’s best to avoid detergents that are specifically formulated for baby clothes.
DIAPER PAIL: A diaper pail is ideal for storing soiled diapers. Choose one made of stainless steel or with good airflow to reduce bacterial growth.
HANGING WET BAG: If you don’t have enough space for a structured diaper pail, a hanging wet bag can be a good alternative dirty diaper storage solution. They are waterproof and can be laundered along with your diapers.
DIAPER SPRAYER: A diaper sprayer hooks up to the water source on your toilet and allows you to spray solids off of your cloth diapers and into the toilet, leaving them ready for laundering.
FLUSHABLE LINERS: Biodegradable, flushable liners are a good tool for removing poop from cloth diapers. Rip a single liner off of the roll and place it on the inside surface of any cloth diaper. When the diaper is soiled, simply shake over a toilet and the liner and any mess inside can be flushed away.
CLOTH WIPES: Cloth wipes are a great way to reduce waste and save money. You can moisten them with warm water or with a homemade, natural wipes solution.
SMALL/MEDIUM WET BAG: A small or medium sized wet bag is very helpful for carrying soiled cloth diapers when you aren’t at home. They are waterproof, machine washable and contain odour.
