This holiday was all about the amazing food and the great selection of activities for the children.
We were lucky to be there when the annual Sani Gourmet food festival was on and Michelin star chefs create their magic preparing some delicious lick your fingers clean food. The food festival happens every May at the restaurants that sit alongside the marina.
We stayed at the Sani Beach hotel and its whole resort is set over 1000 acres and there is very little to do outside of the resort as it is quite far from anything else. The transfer to the hotel from Thessaloniki was about an hours drive, so do keep this in mind. However the resort has ample facilities and activities to keep you busy.
The beaches were really child friendly. Golden sand and shallow sea water were perfect for the children. The crèches they have are run by a UK Childcare specialist so they adhere to OFSTED rules.
There is a Babe Watch service at the other hotels (babysitting on the beach, for the children!) and is included if staying at some of the hotels. I liked the fact that we could walk to the Marina from our hotel and of course here is where I discovered my favorite little hidden gem. On the other side of the fort that sits on top of a little hill was a bar and restaurant with a narrow beach that was a great place to have lunch and look out to sea. Here is where I took some of my absolute favorite holiday pictures ever (see main picture).
Lots of food choices and so much for the children to choose from at the hotel as well as lots of options at the marina. The Sani Marina is part of the resort and here we found some lovely little boutiques as well as all the great restaurants serving food from the Gourmet Festival. During the festival each restaurant serves a specialty dish put together by the chefs. The result is you get amazing food made by some of the best chefs for the whole week. They also cater for the children so there is always a children’s menu at most of the restaurants. My favorite was Tomata, the Italian restaurant. Do what we did and eat at all the great places and then spend the following day swimming it off!
