Harold is an Iceberg Lettuce. When he learns about the icebergs melting around the world, he knows his fate is sealed. He will melt too! Harold has to figure out a way to stay safe. He and his friends set off to find a cold place where Harold can hide out to stay safe from the melting. From exploring the depths of the freezer to worrying about his health and safety, Harold does everything to try to stay cool and beat the heat.
When a friend tells Harold that he is an Iceberg lettuce and not an iceberg, Harold experiences relief, for a moment. Then he wants to do something to help the environment.
This book teaches children about the environment and also has incredible information on how your child can be involved. This lovely story opens children’s eyes up to being environmental stewards and how their local decisions can make a difference globally.
