As your baby grows, so can a Mommy’s guilt. Author, therapist, coach, speaker and owner Cara Maksimow has written a great book, Lose That Mommy Guilt, Tales and Tips From an Imperfect Mom. She shares her experiences that being an imperfect Mom is normal. She shares her own mistakes, or rather, lessons to help you gain your confidence as a parent and let go of that horrible weight we call Mommy guilt.
“As the baby grows the mommy guilt grows. It doesn’t matter how good of a mom you are, you will find a way to beat yourself up over something, I am here to say that it does not have to be that way. As moms we are amazing and we don’t recognize it enough.”
Our favorite chapter is entitled, Getting Organized: Sort Of. Many Mothers are always trying to be perfectly organized. Organization is key to a family running smoothly and Cara gives us some great tips on how to get organized without feeling we have to be running a perfectly oiled machine.
To us, this book is about forgiveness. Forgiving yourself that not being perfect is okay, making mistakes is normal and lessons are an important part of growth as parents. We think this book will help a lot of Moms come to terms that being imperfect is not only okay, but it’s normal. This personal tribute speaks to you like a friend but gives great advice and coping tools for parenting scenarios that you will encounter.
